"All Mallorca on Internet"

With the slogan "Tot Mallorca a Internet" (All Mallorca on Internet) the new version of MallorcaWeb is now on the net. The main novelty is the new search engine and the data base --which now also incorporates news related to Mallorca as well as the webs-- and the new layout of the web, more complete and easier to navigate. The director of the Mallorcan firm, Ramon Sellas, feels completely satisfied with the result and declares "The effort has been enormous but it was worth the trouble. We have formed a good team that has worked tirelessly to obtain a sole objective: to create a search engine that consolidates our position as the main world reference for searching Internet resources relating to Mallorca. I think we have managed it."

The programming of the new data base is the product of an agreement between Infotelecom and MallorcaWeb. Approximately six months ago, the Menorcan, Antoni Genestar, director of Infotelecom, and the director of MallorcaWeb, Ramon Sellas, agreed to join forces to carry out this project which has now seen the light. Elena Vera, webmaster of MallorcaWeb, has been responsible for the design and the young Menorcan, Carles Florit, programmer at Infotelecom, has been in charge of the programming.

Another novelty worth stressing is the Towns Map, developed with dynamic HTML by Antoni Burguera, which as well as carrying out searches by municipalities, also shows a photograph of every town and situates each one on the map of Mallorca.
