The Plan for the administration of urban waste in Mallorca approved

The process of the Plan was initiated when the Coordination Committee for Territorial Policy, in their meeting on November 10, 1999, agreed the approve initially the "Sectorial Directive Plan for the Administration of Urban Waste on Mallorca (PDSGRUM), revision of November 1999"

On Friday, February 18, at the proposal by the Councillor for Environment, Margalida Rosselló, the Cabinet approved by Decree the "Sectorial Directive Plan for the Administration of Urban Waste on Mallorca revision of February 2000".

The objective of the PDSGRUM is to establish a framework of compulsory action for the adequate handling of the urban waste, to adapt the previous Sectorial Directive Plan to the current norm and to define a new model of administration of residues that is environmentally advanced. The prevention of the generation of waste is the maximum priority, followed by the evaluation, and in the last case, safe elimination.
