On April 9,
Intermon will hold in the Passeig Marítim in Palma (next to the
Bar Marítimo) the 6th edition of its annual
fiesta "A Day for Hope", a festivity that will take place in 27 cities in Spain and Andorra la Vella. "A Day for Hope" is one of the main
promotions by Intermon, intended for participation by children, teenagers and adults and includes all kind of ludic and protest
activities: live music, entertainment, games, work shops, the reading of the manifest for education and several stands on Intermon
and its activities.
On this occasion, the date is part of the international campaign "Education Now: Let us break the poverty circle" organised together
with the eleven NGO of the group
Oxfam Internacional –Intermon in Spain –. Therefore the majority of the stands, information points
and activities proposed for the 9th will be centres especially on the world education crisis. However, those attending will also have
the opportunity to find out about and become involved in two Intermon campaigns: "Move with Africa" - which ends this year - and
"Farewell to Arms" - that Intermon promotes together with
Amnistía Internacional,
Greenpeace and
Médicos Sin Fronteras.
