Judaism at the end of the second millennium

The Institute for Cultural Relations Balears-Israel is presenting, once more, their yearly Cycle of Conferences. The cycles for this year 2000, 5760 in the Jewish calendar, proposes a reflection on the real nucleus of Israel, which is perhaps its essence: its religious experience. The programme started on April 13 at the Sa Nostra cultural centre with a round table on "Meeting of Judaism and Christianity: in the light of Vatican II" by Teodor Úbeda, Bishop of Mallorca; Aarón Katz, rabbi of the Israeli Community of Mallorca; and Miquel Beltran, Professor of Philosophy at the UIB.

Next Tuesday, April 17, will be the opening of the three exhibition in the three centres of UNED (Open University) of the Islands: JERUSALEM FROM THE AIR at the Palma Centre, FROM THE BEGINNING at the Mahon Centre and THE OCCIDENTAL WALL at the Ibizan Centre. The three exhibitions, and the cycle of conferences, will end on May 17 of this year.
