President Antich received the composer singer, Gabriel Oliver, better
known as Biel Majoral, on July 3. During the meeting Majoral gave the
President his latest record, "Temps, temps, temps", the Mallorcan
musician's second record after "Vou veri vou per no dormir". Both
productions have an important protest component, the characteristic of
Majoral's music.
Majoral took the opportunity to inform the President about the "Proclama
per l'ensenyament en català", written by Josep Massot, Josep Melià and
himself; he requested a new meeting to be able to present the campaign
officially and the group of signatures in favour that have been
collected over the last few months. The Proclama was presented with the
Catalan Book Week, held between February 24 and March 5, 2000, in the
Exhibition Hall in Palma.
In the meeting, that was held amicably --- both are from Algaida ----
they dealt with other topics connected to the world of culture and the
protection of the environment.
