The gardens of the Carthusian in Valldemossa will hold the Festival Chopin
2000 during August, and this year it commemorates its XX anniversary.
The fourth concert (organ) on August 27, dedicated to the Year of Back,
will take place in the Sencelles church.
Coinciding with the festival, today an exhibition by the artist, Dolores
Sampol, will open in the Sala Capitular of the Carthusian and will remain
open until August 30.
Fryderyc Chopin lived together with the writer, George Sand, at the
Carthusian in Valldemossa, in the winter of 1838-39.
