The multinational Mallorcan hotel chain
RIU Hotels has recently opened
the 4 star Club-Hotel Riu Gran Canaria, with 636 rooms, that is their
largest hotel in Spain and the second on an international scale, only
beaten by the Club-Hotel Riu Tequila, with 664 rooms at Playa del Carmen
(México).
Situated 35 kilometres from Las Palmas airport, it has a main building
with 585 rooms, plus 51 apartments along the boulevard that borders the
coast in the urbanization of Meloneras. The establishment enjoys a mild
microclimate on the south of Gran Canaria and is near the park Dunas de
Maspalomas, with beautiful beaches.
The new Club-Hotel Riu Gran Canaria is the 88th hotel in the RIU chain
and 35th in the Canaries. In those islands the firm is the leader with
17,000 beds in 12 hotels in Gran Canaria, 6 in Tenerife, 10 in
Fuerteventura and 7 in Lanzarote.
