The Music Service of the
Caixa Foundation is organising a monographic course "Bach com a guia musical". The four sessions
of the course will take place on November 15, 21 and 29 and December 13, at 7 p.m. in the Foundation headquarters in
Palma.
The course, by Carles Riera, director of the Municipal School of Music Josep Maria Ruera in Granollers, and musical
consultant of the Caixa Foundation, has the objective of studying in depth the music by
Bach to discover that the music is a
language for everyone, but that it offers more to those who go in greater depth.
According to the organisers "music does not need translation. Even when dealing with music of different people and cultures or
other era, it reaches us immediately. That is possible thanks to a common base for all kinds of music. In the different sessions
of the cycle, we propose to advance into the learning of these bases. Johann Sebastian Bach - this year commemorates the
250 years since his death - will be the master and guide in a panorama or works and composers of different historical
moments. We will also compare the music with other languages, such as the cinema and literature."
Full programme of the course in
Catalan or
Castillian.
