Félix Ares, the director of
Miramon. KutxaEspacio de la Ciencia in San Sebastián will give a conference on November 14 at
7.30 p.m. at the headoffice of the
Caixa Foundation in Palma, called "How a hundred years of science have changed daily life".
The conference, which will be presented by Josep Tur, is part of the cycle "The threshold of science" organised by the Caixa
Foundation, coordinated by Antoni Bennàssar i Roig.
47 and 38 years: that was the life expectancy for men and women in the year 1900. Our lifestyle has improved more in the last
hundred years than in the ten previous centuries. This conference intends to compare life with that of 100 years ago. The
activities of a normal day will be compared with those carried out by our grandparents or greatgrandparents.
