The Talaotic Village of Ses Paisses

The Talaotic Village of Ses Paisses
Antoni Genovart, from Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, keeps an interesting informative web on the Net dedicated to the Talaiotic Village of Ses Paisses.

Situated in Artà, the Talaotic Village of Ses Paisses, 3,000 years old, constitutes the most important and characteristic archaeological group in the municipality and the whole eastern area of the Island. It is easy to find, less than one kilometre from the town centre, and can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.

The entrance, the best preserved part of the Village, has become one of the symbols of Mallorcan prehistory. Inside can be found rooms, sanctuaries, hypostolic halls, and a central talaiot with a gallery, that offer a good idea of how the prehistoric people lived in the Balearics.

The web, created by Antoni Genovart, contains full information about the archaeological group with texts, photos and plans: mallorcaweb.net/sespaisses
