In the heart of Palma the atmosphere of Christmas can be felt, especially since last Wednesday when the
Town Council officially
switched on the Christmas lights: 157,000 lights that remain on every day from 5.30 p.m. till 9 p.m. On special days, such as
Christmas Eve, New Years Eve and the Eve of the Three Kings, the lights will shine until 6 a.m. After Kings, the lights will be
turned off but will remain in situ to be lit again for the festivities of Sant Antoni and Sant Sebastian, that are celebrated around
January 17 and 20 respectively.
And not only the lights announce the arrival of Christmas, but also the shops have started to decorate their shopwindows with
festive motives, exhibiting particularly those products that are most bought at this time of the year: presents, party clothes, toys, etc..
