Joan Melià, the
UIB professor,
Jaume Corbera and the person responsible for the Social and Cultural Works
of
Sa Nostra, Andreu Ramis, presented
las January 26 a series of conferences "La llengua catalana a Europa" that
will start on January 31 and will last until March 15.
The seven conferences of the cycle, coordinated by "Amics de La Bressola"
will deal with different topics that revolve round the situation of Catalan
in Europe. All the sessions will start at 7.30 p.m. at the Cultural
Centre of Sa Nostra at Calle Concepció 12 in Palma.
According to the general director of Linguistic Policy, Joan Melià,
this cycle of conferences starts the activities that the Balearic Government
will promote this year for the celebration of the
European
Year of Languages 2001 and the centenary of the reading of "Lletra
de Convit" by
Antoni Ma.
