International Competition for Young Artists

Since 1991, the Fundación Barceló has sponsored an International Painting Competition, open to all artists. As the tenth edition was held in the year 2000, the Foundation considers that it has completed one of its artistic projects.

However, it is aware that it cannot stop supporting the art which is being produced today and as such is holding the First International Competition for Young Artists.

The works must be presented from the 16th of April to the 7th of May, 2001, inclusive. The committee will award a first prize of 1,000,000ptas (6,010.12 euros), and two second prizes of 250,000ptas (1,502.53 euros) each. Both the winning work and that of the second prize winners will become full property of the Fundación Barceló which will acquire the rights of exhibition, edition and reproduction of said works.

The winning works and those selected will be exhibited at the head office of the Fundación Barceló from the 21st May to the 29th June 2001.
