The Puget legacy at Sa Llonja

The Puget legacy at Sa Llonja
Sa Llonja in Palma is holding the exhibition "El llegat Puget a Sa Llonja".  The installation, that will remain open until March 25, gathers together the whole artistic legacy of two Ibizan artists,  Narcís Puget Viñas (1874 - 1960) and Narcís Puget Riquer (1916 - 1983), father and son, comprising 130 works: oils, watercolours, drawings and charcoal sketches.
The installation, organised by the Balearic Department of Education and Culture, is the last that will take place at Sa Llonja before the rehabilitation of the emblematic Gothic building that will start after the summer.

According to Pere Muñoz, general director for Culture of the Balearic Government, during the presentation of the installation:  "This is a unique opportunity to see these works outside Ibiza as Puget Riquer donated his paintings and those of his father, on condition that they would not leave Ibiza and that a museum of the Puget legacy would be created.  The works have been able to leave Ibiza thanks to the collaboration of the family and the Ministry, taking the opportunity that the works of the future museum at Can Comasema have not finished yet, and so the paintings had not been deposited at their destination yet."

The exhibition has the collaboration of  Obra Social de la Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM) that has financed the catalogue.
