Platform for Coherent Education

Recently the "Platform for Coherent Education" has been formed, via an initiative of a group of parents who are worried about the education that their children should receive and about the educational policy that is applied by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Balearic Government. Teaching professionals and different organisations and entities have joined the initiative.

The Platform has issued a manifest to collect signatures. In the document they state that the educational offer in the Balearics is varied and different, with regards to quality, but presents difficulties for parents at the moment of finding a school that guarantees personalised and integral education. Therefore they demand a global improvement of education and propose, as prioritary measures, to optimise the ratios contemplated in the LOGSE for Junior Education; to attend the parents' right to know the educational centres before the children's preinscription; and to assure quality teaching by the public and contracted educational centres.
