The Classic Cars also contaminate

The 1st stage of the "I Trofeu Balears Clàssic de l'Automòbil", organised by Ibatur, the tourist promotion entity of the Conselleria de Turismo of the Balearic Government, started last Thursday from the Paseo Marítimo in Palma.

On Thursday, the classic cars circulated without any control along the roads in Andratx, Es Capdellà (Calvià), Deià, Sóller, Bunyola and Alaró. In some cases, as the photograph illustrating the news shows, the participating cars and their companions have provoked serious traffic problems and also environmental ones (a lot of noise and contaminating exhaust fumes) along their route through urban centres.
