The Zorba Project by
Greenpeace
started in 1996 with the boat that a member had ceded to the ecological
association. At present, if offers the possibility of sailing for six days
on board the 18 metre wooden sailing ship, "Greenpeace VI/Zorba" for 68,000
pesetas.
The project for Marine Coastal Environment Education onboard the Greenpeace
VI-Zorba, administred by the Greenpeace office in Palma de Mallorca, is
based on economical selfsufficiency, the participants being the ones who
contribute to the maintenance, both by monetary contributions (crew who
come to receive environment education) or by their voluntary work (sailors,
cooks, maintenance helpers).
Principally they sail along the Mallorcan coast and regularly visit
the
National
Maritime Land National Park of Cabrera.
