The Museu
d'Art Espanyol Contemporani of the
Fundación
Juan March, situated in the C/ Sant Miquel, 11 in Palma, will
hold from May 23 to July 21, 2001, the exhibition "From Caspar David
Friedrich to Picasso. Master works on paper from the Wuppertal Museum"
.
The exhibition will include a selection of 68 works, comprising watercolours,
sketches and etchings, carried out between 1810 and 1951 by 32 outstanding
masters of the historical European vanguard: Max Beckmann,
Edward Burne Jones, Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, John Constable,
Salvador Dalí, Edgar Degas, Otto Dix, Max Ernst, Caspar David Friedrich,
Vincent van Gogh, Erich Heckel, Vassily Kandinsky, Ersnt Ludwig Kirchner,
Paul Klee, Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, August Macke,
Claude Monet, Otto Mueller, Edvard Munch, Emil Nolde, Pablo Picasso, Odilon
Redon, Auguste Rodin, Christian Rohlfs, Kurt Schwitters, Georges Seurat,
Alfred Sisley, Hans Thoma and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
The Fundación Juan March has organised the exhibition with the
collaboration by the
Von
der Heydt-Museum in Wuppertal (Germany). The director, Sabine Fehlemann,
is the author of the commentaries on the works included in the catalogue
that has been edited for this collective exhibition.
Times:: from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Saturday:
10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Sundays and holidays closed.
Entrance: 500 ptas. Free for residents of the Balearics.
