MallorcaWeb organises the Web Prize 2001

MallorcaWeb is organising for the second year running the Prize for the best web amongst the users of the Freemail service. The free MallorcaWeb Freemail service started in October 1998 and offers email and 15 MB of web space, which can be increased to 25 MB for contents dedicated to Mallorca. The objective of this contest is to promote the contents related to the culture and economy of Mallorca on Internet.

The limit for presenting webs in the contest "Prize for the best 2001 web" is the 1st of June and the only conditions are those relating to the Freemail service and that the contents bears some relation to the culture or economy of the island. Any present users of the service and all those who subscribe before June 1, 2001 may participate. The competing web pages must be hosted on the web space assigned by the FREEmail service.

The prize for the best 2001 web will be the purchase of a personal domain for the wining web, the hosting of the web with its own domain --free and for life -- on MallorcaWeb and 50,000 pesetas if the winner is an individual or business, or 100,000 pesetas if the winner is an association, an NGO, a school, institute, university department or any other nonlucrative entity.

The jury that will decide the winner of the "Web Prize 2001" will be comprised of six authors of the webs that were classified in the six first places of the "Web Prize 2000" and by two people designated by MallorcaWeb. What is more, between June 4 and 18 there will be an online poll so that the interested internauts may vote for the best web for 2001. The results of the poll will be born in mind by the jury, but will not be vinculating. On June 19 the winner of "Premi Web 2001" will be announced.

Those interested in participating in the competition may send a message to master@mallorcaweb.com indicating their user name within the FREEmail service. Those people who are not yet users of the service, should subscribe previously via the registration form.
