The Mallorcan writer,
Biel Mesquida, will present his book "T'estim a tu" (
Editorial
Empúries) next Wednesday, May 23 at 8.30 p.m. at the Centre
de Cultura Contemporània Pelaires in Palma (Carrer Can Verí,
3).
The presentation will be by Nina Moll, writer, and Damià Pons,
councillor for Education and Culture. During the ceremony, those
attending will receive a cava cocktail from
Menu.
Mesquida's new book, that he describes as a declaration of love for
Mallorca, revises the problems that at present affect the Island. The story
-- full of humour, sensitivity and imagination, incites the reader to reflect
on the problems of the survival of the Catalan language and culture, the
galloping building, the destruction of the environment, drugtrafficking....
The cover of the book is by
Miquel
Barceló.
