V Games of the Islands

From May 30 to June 3, 2001 the V Games of the Islands are being held.

The fifth edition of the Games of the Islands will gather in Mallorca over 700 sports people of the cadet category from 11 European insular communities: The Balearics, Canaries, Azores, Corfú, Corsica, Crete, Madeira, Martinique, Sardinia, Sicily and Malta.

The young sports people will compete in table tennis at the IES Son Ferrer in Calvià, judo at the Polideportivo Municipal in Calvià, basketball at the Polideportivo Municipal Antoni Servera in Arenal and the Polideportivo in Arenal, volleyball at the Polideportivo Municipal Germans Escales in Palma, handball at the UIB, at the Polideportivo Príncipes de España and at the Polideportivo Germans Escales, sailing at the Escuela Nacional de Vela Calanova, and athletics, tennis, swimming and gymnastics at the Polideportivo Príncipes de España.
