The
Sala
Sonotone in Palma (plaza Gomila) will hold on Saturday, June 16, a
double concert of pop-rock music by the Mallorcan bands Glycerine and Blue
Meany. The doors will open at 10 p.m., Blue Meany will start performing
at 10.30 p.m. and Glycerine as from 11.15 p.m. Entrance 500 ptas at the
door.
The band, Glycerine, that is organising the concert, was founded in
1998, and since then has performed in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Barcelona,
Madrid..... In 1999 they won the Pop Rock Art Jove contest and in
2000 were 4th with a special mention by the jury at the Pop rock Ciutat
de l'Hospitalet (Barcelona), competing with over 350 groups from all over
Spain. In 1999 they recorded their first record, "Glycerine" edited
by
Blau Discmedi, and their music
also formed part of the album "The Bam Balam Explosion Vol. VII" 2001,
edited by
Bam Balam Records.
Blue Meany, that will also perform have obtained important results in
different rock contests (Radio Jove 1995, BUCS in Barcelona 1997, Casal
Jove in Sarrià '98) and have also participated in "The Bam Balam
Explosion Vol. VII" 2001, together with other important Mallorcan groups,
such as
La Granja,
The
Nash,
Sunflowers,
Dawnhollenchilada,
Mineralwater,
Los Malditos, Winonas,
Goodfellows...
