Patron saint festivities at Sa Cabaneta

Las "Festes de sa Cabaneta 2001" will be held from August 26 to September 2, organized by the Campet Youth Club to celebrated the 15th anniversary of their foundation.

The fiestas will start on Sunday 26 at 7 p.m. with a street parade by the "xeremiers" and people dressed like Siurells, the traditional Mallorcan clay whistle. On Thursday 30 there will be a children's party as from 6 p.m. and at 9 p.m. the fiesta proclamation by Magdalena Ferriol.

Worth stressing amongst other proposals are: the "Pa Amb olidada" (bread, oil and tomato), the dance and the foam party that will be held on Friday, August 31; and the "Fiesta-Concert 15th Anniversary of the Grup d'Esplai es Campet" on Saturday, September 1, with Joan Toni Eskarabat, Amb una mica de sort, Glaucs, Fora des sembrat and Whiskyn's. This concert, organised by vinedefesta.com with the support of different institutions should be repeated annually in different towns on the Island.

The festivities will end on Sunday, September 2, with a dance with the groups Tracalada and Caliu and with the "Xiulada popular de siurells" that will 'whistle' at midnight.
