On Sunday, October 7, the fourth "Marxa pel Tren de Llevant", will
take place, an initiative promoted by the
Joves
de Llevant, supported by the town councils of the affected municipalities,
Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca, the
GOB
and
Músics per la Llengua.
Another year, walkers from Cala Rajada, Capdepera, Artà, Sineu,
Petra, Vilafranca, Manacor, Sant Llorenç and Son Carrió will
cover the railway tracks as far as Son Servera, to protest for the reactivation
of the Llevant railway.
In Son Servera, the arrival point, there will be a popular lunch and
a protest concert with performances by Guillem Sansó,
Ocults,
Al Maiurqa, Suso Reixach, Es Pedregats,
Spaghetti,
Damià
Timoner... This year the novelty is that at the Son Servera station,
a video will be show with different coverage of the 'marxes' and the train
on Mallorca.
The mayors of the town councils of the area (
Artà,
Capdepera,
Manacor,
Petra,
Sant
Llorenç,
Sineu,
Son
Servera and
Vilafranca),
who are heading the "Marxa" this year, will demand greater investment from
the Central Government for public transport, and in particular for the
railway.
