Food supplies are low, medical care is
hard to find, and tens of thousands of people are on the move toward borders
and remote rural regions.
As the onset of winter and the possibility of war grow closer for Afghanistan,
UNICEF is doing all it can to help millions of children and women survive
what is shaping up to be a major humanitarian crisis. More than 5 million
people - 70 per cent of them children and women - already rely on humanitarian
aid to survive, and the numbers could rise significantly.
