From January 14 to 17 at the Teatre Municipal de Palma.
On Monday, January 14, the opening night of the "V Mostra de Cinema
i Vídeo de Palma" will be held at the Teatre Municipal de Palma,
organised by Artífex Cultural within the programme of the Fiestas
de Sant Sebastià 2002. This first night will include a concert by
the group La Banda Magnética and the films
Gatos by Antoni
Bestard, No return by Josep Hernandéz and Miquel Mascaró,
Que te folle un pez by Luis Ortas,
Hambre by Pere Riutort
and Gas by David Mataró. The first sessions and the following three
will start at 9.30 p.m.
On Tueday 15, the show will be dedicated to the independent cinema and
will include a selection of short films from the "VIII Festival de Cinema
Independent de Barcelona" and the "Festival Electrozine Eivissa'01".
On Wednesday 16 there will be documentaries and historic cinema, with
the films Las bellas de Mallorca (election of Miss United Nations
in Mallorca, 1963), Deià, sus paisajes y pintores (1988)
and Joaquim Mir i Santiago Russinyol (1999).
Finally, Thursday's night will be dedicated to the works produced within
the master that is coursed at the University of the Balearic Islands and
to the works selected in the Art Jove 2001 competition.
