Pere Bennàssar at the Casal Solleric

The floor between the ground floor and the first floor of the Casal Solleric in Palma is holding until April 21 the exhibition "Pere Bennàssar. Obres 1986 - 2002".

Pere Bennàssar (Felanitx, 1963) presents in this exhibition a collection of big size paintings and ceramics that he has created between 1986 and 2002. The artist studied in the school Arts i Oficis of Palma and in 1984 participated in the first collective exhibition at the Galeria 4 Gats in Palma. The same year he carried out his first individual exhibition at the Sa Nostra cultural hall in Felanitx. Since then hi has exhibited in many cities: Girona, Barcelona, Maó, Eivissa, Madrid, Sant Sebastià, Gothenburg, Berlin, Los Angeles... and he has received several awards, such as the 1st Prize for Painting of the Fundació Barceló in Palma (1991), and the 1st Prize Ciutat de Manacor (2001). Bennàssar's relation with ceramics comes from a long familiar tradition. His father founded, over 50 years ago, a ceramics workshop where he discovered the secrets of clay manipulation.
