Sineu celebrates on April 25 the
Sant Marc patron saint festivity. This year the programme of events will
continue until May 5, connecting with "Sa Fira", a traditional agricultural
and handicraft exhibition that yearly attracts a big number of visitants
from from all over the island.
The events programmed to celebrate the festivity of Sant Marc include
many different proposals. On Thursday, April 25, the day of Sant Roc, there
will be, amongst other activities, a concert by the pupils of the Music
School from Sineu (at 5.30 p.m. at the Convent de Sant Francesc) followed
by the Mass for Sant Marc. This day, in Sineu, it is a tradition to eat
snails.
On Friday, April 26, as from 10 p.m., there will be a popular dance
at the square of the village with "torrada" and wine for everybody and
music by Escola de Sa Ximbòmba, S'Estol des Gerricó and S'Estol
des Picot.
On Saturday, April 27, worth mentioning is the theatre performance at
the Casa de Cultura by the group Picadís Teatre. And on Sunday 28
there will be a Popular Paella with the performance by the group "Yesterday".
The programme of activities ends with the Fair, on Sunday 5, which will
include exhibition and sale of autochthonous animals, farming machinery,
vehicles, etc.
