The "XVIII Trobada d'Escoles Mallorquines" will be held next Sunday,
May 12, in Alaró, within the celebrations of the
100
years of the electricity in the village and coinciding with the closure
of the exhibition
"Els
anys elèctrics. 100 anys d'electricitat a Mallorca".
The festive day will group children from over 70 schools, teachers,
parents and friends committed to active learning, rooted in local/regional
cultural reality. The programme will start at 10 a.m. and includes amongst
other proposals exhibitions of works carried out by the schools, guided
visits to the Church and the
electricity
exhibition, workshops and performances by the
Dimonis
d'Alaró, na Maranxa, the giants
Cabrit
i Bassa and
Cucorba.
At 1 p.m. the reading of the official proclamation will take place,
followed by a popular diner at the park of Son Tugores (reservations at
971 51 80 14). A concert by the choirs of Alaró, Llucmajor and Esporles,
at the Church, will end the meeting.
