The CD "Alegria" by Antònia Font, (
Virgin
Records) has been on sale since the end of April. This is the
third record by Antònia Font, the popular Mallorcan Catalan rock
group that adopted this feminine name in tribute to their first fans. The
group's first record, called "Antònia Font, came out in 1999, recorded
in the TJ So studios produced by Tomeu Janer. The second, "
A
Rússia", at the beginning of 2001, coedited by the Mallorcan
record company Slurp and the one from Girona
Música
Global. The new CD "Alegria", that incorporates rhythms of bossa-nova,
reggae and pop, lasts 30 minutes and the graphics are by Pep Fiol, one
of the group of traditional music,
Herbes
Dolçes.
Antònia Font will present their new CD on May 25 at the
Festimad
in Móstoles (Madrid), and is the first group to perform in this
festival singing in Catalan.
The group Antònia Font is comprised of five musicians,
Pau Debon (vocal and chorus), Joan Miquel Oliver (guitars, words and music),
Jaume Manresa (keyboards), Pere Manel Debon (drums and morena) and Joan
Roca (base).
