The Centre Cultural Contemporani Pelaires, situated in the calle Verí
in Palma, is holding in June and July 2002 an exhibition by the Catalan
artist, Hernández Pijuan.
Joan Hernández Pijuan (Barcelona, 1931) is presenting in this
second show that he is holding at the Pelaires, the first was a retrospectictive
one in 1998, a selection of his recent work comprising oil paintings of
small and large sizes. Professor of Art at the Fine Arts College
of the University of Barcelona, in 1985 he received the Creu de Sant Jordi
of the Generalitat de Catalunya and since 2000 is an academic of the San
Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Madrid. His work is to be found
in prestigious museums and public collections all over the world.
