After the exhibition "
Dürer
and his time ", that can be visited until June 16, the Cultural Centre
of the
Fundació "la Caixa"
on the Balearic Islands, in the old Gran Hotel building in the plaza Weyler
in Palma, will hold an exhibition dedicated to the Sweden photographer Christer
Strömholm, that will be on from June 19 to September 1, 2002.
Organised by the
Fundació
"la Caixa" with collaboration from the
Haselblad
Center in Göteburg and commissioned by Gunilla Knape and Marta
Gili, the exhibition groups a selection of photographs by
Christer
Strömholm (Stockholm, 1918-2002). Some of the photographs are
unpublished and most of them have been taken in Spain. Some in the "barrio
chino" (red light district) of Palma, in the end of the 50's and the beginning
of the 60's. The selection also includes the well known work that the author
carried out in Paris between 1956 and 1962 with a group of transsexuals.
To complement the exhibition, on Friday, June 21, at 7 p.m., there will
be the film "
En construcción"
by José Luis Guerín. After the film, the director will offer
the lecture "Paisaje urbano, paisaje humano" (urban landscape, human landscape).
