Classical Theatre Festival in the Bellver Castle

Four theatre companies will participate in the first edition of the "Festival de Teatre Clàssic", organised by the Palma Town Council within the summer programme "Nits a la Fresca", that will be held from August 1 to 24 in the patio of the Bellver Castle.

The company La Clota Groc will open the programme with "Somni d'una nit d'estiu" by William Shakespeare, coproduced with Rafel Oliver Produccions, that will be on August 1, 2, 3 and 4. On August 9 and 10 the company Teatro Corsario will stage "Edipo Rey" by Sófocles and on August 16 and 17, the company Histrion Teatro will present "Juana la loca" by Gustavo Funes. The festival will end on August 23 and 24 with the play "Céfalo y Pocris" by Calderón de la Barca, represented by the company Teatro Guirigai.

All the performances will begin at 10 p.m. and the entrance tickets cost 15 €. Advanced sales at the Teatre Municipal de Palma (Tel. 971 73 91 48) from Monday to Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
