The I Simposium Internacional de Escultura en Mallorca (SIEMA) will
be held until July 15 at the
Pueblo
Español, organised by the Asociación de Artesanos y Comerciantes
del Pueblo Español and commissioned by the sculptor, Jeroni Bosch.
The programmed events started last July 1 with a show Ciutat Dansa where
four dancers showed the the pieces in Carrara marble that will be transformed
into sculptures in the following fifteen days until July 15. The eight
sculptors who will work in front of the public are: Toni Capó, Morgana
Orsetta Ghini, Kim Hyung-Pyo, Pier Giorgio Balocchi, Filippo Tincolini,
Olli Mantere, Simone Zanaglia and Sibylle Pasche.
Three concerts have been organised in connection with the SIEMA. On
July 5 there was a concert by Flyng Dog, Glycerine and Empleado del Mes;
On July 6 by Uve; and finally on July 12, Club Tiempos Felices and For
if the flies. All the concerts start at 9 p.m. At the same time,
works by some of the participating artists will be exhibited in the adjoining
halls.
SIEMA 2002 is sponsored by the
Ayuntamiento
de Palma, private sponsors who will acquired the sculptures carried
out and by
Sa Nostra, the financial
entity owner of the hall.
Entry free for residents.
