Fiestas for Sant Bartomeu in Capdepera

From August 17 to 30, Capdepera will celebrate their festivities for Sant Bartomeu. A street parade followed by the reading of the official proclamation of the fiestas will start the programme on Saturday 17 as from noon. The same day at 11 p.m. there will be the traditional "Nit de Foc" by Iguana Teatre, a spectacular street firework show that each year brings about a fantastic participation. The productions is based on popular Mediterranean culture, mixed with fire, demons, music, fireworks, drums, mechanical beasts and other devices that manage to integrate the public into a vibrating Dionysian fiesta. The activities on Saturday will end with a concert by Take it Easy and Cheb Balowskya.

Some other activities programed are the concert by the Coral s'Alzinar in the Church of Capdepera and the open air dance with music by Art Acustic Band, Rocking Shadows and Beach Boys Tribute (Sunday 18), the children's entertainment by Spaghetti and the dance show by the students of the ballet school Silvia Abril (Monday 19), the concert by the choir Ca Nostra (Tuesday 20), the popular supper with music by Anònims, Duo Nilas and Trío Amanecer (Wednesday 21), the folk dances by the group Castell de Capdepera (Thursday 22), and the open air dance with music by Salsa 4, Orquídea Big Band, Química Latina and Filharmònica de Son Reus (Friday 23).

The day of Sant Bartomeu (Saturday 24) there will be the solemn Mass and theatre by Picadís; and the day after (Sunday 25), horse races and a concert by the local music band.
