Sunday 8 it is the day of the "Mare de Déu de Setembre",
patron saint of many Mallorcan towns. One of them is Banyalbufar, that
celebrates intensely this fiestas, the most important of their festive
calendar. Also Fornalutx is having fiestas for the Nativitat de Nostra
Senyora, patron saint of the town, as well as Galilea, where the celebrations
are held in a familiar atmosphere; and Lloseta, Son Sordina,
Maria
de La Salut,
Costitx,
s'Arracó...
Palma will also hold a varied programme of events for the Mare de Déu
de la Salut.
Other towns of the island where you will find fiestas these days are
Sa
Cabaneta, that celebrates the festivity of the Mare de Déu de
Marratxí;
Cas
Concos that is holding the fiestas for Sant Nicolau;
Santa
Ponça that commemorates the 773 Anniversary of the landing of
King Jaime I; and the
Lluc
Sanctuari, which is full of activities for "La Diada".
More over, worth stressing is the celebration of the
Diada
de Mallorca, including events in most of the Mallorcan towns, some
of which will take place this weekend, such as the "Festa de Llanternes"
(lanterns party) to be held on Saturday 7 in Búger. And there will
also be festive activities at the
Fira
d'Artà that begins on Friday.
