Royal Shakespeare Company presents "King Lear" at Sa Màniga

The Royal Shakespeare Company will present "King Lear" this week end at the Auditòrium Sa Màniga in Cala Millor. The Company, considered to be one of the best in the world, will reach Mallorca from Girona and after their stay on the island, will travel to Rome to continue their tour to present this mythical tragedy by William Shakespeare.

The central theme of King Lear are the abysses in human nature. The powerful King Lear of Britain has reached his old age and decides to abdicate. He will have to divide his kingdom among his three daughters and their husbands, with the intention of avoiding conflicts in the future. But this solutions seems only to cause new wars.

The performances will take place on Saturday 23 at 9 p.m. and Sunday 24 at 6 p.m. Tickets at 20, 15 and 4 euros (Tel. 971 587373).
