The Mallorca Cathedral will hold until December 19 the exhibition "l'espirit
Gaudí. Obres a la Seu 1903-1914", a trip with indications round
the different objects designed by the architect, Gaudí, and his
collaborators, Josep Maria Jujol and Joan Rubió from 1903 to 1914
fulfilling the order for liturgic restoration and the artistic intervention
in the gothic temple from the bishop Pere Joan Campins Barceló.
Organised by the Dirección General de Arquitectura y Vivienda
of the Govern de les Illes Balears and the Cabildo de la Catedral de Mallorca
with the collaboration of the Official College of Architects of the Balearics,
directed by Pere-Joan Llabrés Martorell, canon of the Mallorca
Cathedral, and commissioned by Marta Siera, the exhibition opened last
November 29 with a guided visit participated by Francesc Antich, president
of the Balearic Government, and Teodor Úbeda, bishop of Mallorca.
The exhibition is part of the activities organised on Mallorca to commemorate
the
Año Gaudí,
like the "
Jornades
Internacionals d'Estudis Gaudinistes", held last June, and the exhibition
"
Jujol
diseñador", recently held at the Fundación "la Caixa".
Visiting times:
- Monday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8
p.m.
Guided visits for groups:
- Sundays December 1, 8 and 15 at 5 p.m.
Free entry for residents of the Balearics.
