At Christmas, Palma city offers a wide choice of activities: markets,
nativity scenes, street entertainment...
The traditional Christmas markets will be installed once again in the
plaza de España and in the plaza Major until January 5. There will
also be a solidarity market to benefit Es Refugi, from December 12 to 14,
in the Casal Balaguer.
As for the nativity scenes, you can visit the Articulated nativity scene
at the Pueblo Español; the nativity scene of the Claustre de Sant
Antoniet that will open on December 16; the "Nativity scene of ancient
professions of the mountain, plain and coast" that can be visited in the
entrance hall of the Town Hall; a contemporary nativity scene by Ágata
Ruiz de la Prada, exhibited at Can Marquès until January 5, and
the and the traditional exhibition at the Caputxines Convent. More over,
from December 23 to January 4, in different places in the city, there will
be live nativity representations.
Concerts
organised by the
Juventudes
Musicales de Palma, street parades on December 20 and 23, and January
3, at 7 p.m.; children's activities from December 27 to January 4, and
many other proposals that can be found on the
web
of the Town Council complete the programme.
One of the novelties this year is the ice skating rink that has been
installed in s'Escorxador, open until January 6, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
