The 35 works selected to participate in the final of the "Premi Ciutat
de Palma Antoni Gelabert d'Arts Plàstiques 2002" are on show until
March 16, 2003 on the ground and mezanine floors of the Casal Solleric
in Palma. The first prize this year, given on the day of Sant Sebastian
in the traditional dinner organised by the
Palma
Town Council as part of the
Festas
de Sant Sebastià, was adjudicated to the work "Acumulació
urbana" by Rafel Perelló (Manacor, 1963).
Meanwhile, the main floor (first) at the Casal Solleric is housing until
February 2, 2003, the exhibition "Love and Death in the Romanticism". The
exhibition, sponsored by the
Ministerio
de Educación, Cultura y Deporte and the
CAM,
is an approach to understanding romanticism via the image of love and death
represented by the artists of the era with different pieces, proceeding
from the stock at the
Museo
Romántico in Madrid, from paintings, sculpture, graphic and
decorative arts, weapons, books, magazines, etc.
As for the Espai Quatre, a hall in the basement of the Solleric, it
will house until March 20, 2003, the installation "Random" by
Eugenio
Ampudia (Melgar - Valladolid, 1958).
