A picture by Fernandez Coca announces the arrival of Carnival in Palma

Carnival is just around the corner. The parades of floats, groups and individuals in fancy-dress will go out into the street next February 27, Lardy Thursday and will invade the whole island until March 5, Ash Wednesday.

Palma has already chosen the poster that will promote Sa Rua this year. It is an illustration by Antonio Fernández Coca, winner of the poster competition organised by the Ayuntamiento de Palma, and shows the Carnival as a festival of integration where everyone can take part.

As usual, this popular parade that goes round the centre of Palma will be held on Sunday, March 2 as from 5 p.m.
