After the success of the
massive
demonstration of last February 15, the Plataforma per la Democrącia
i la Globalització Social has called for
new
protest action against the war. For Thursday March 13, they are calling
for a
strike
by consumers which will consist in not carrying out any bank operations,
nor buying in large supermarkets and department stores, nor buying any
petrol, having the mobile phones turned off, not using the car, etc. On
Friday, March 14, at 7 p.m. there will be a candle-lit concentration outside
the Consulate of the United States in Calle Joan Miró in Palma.
Finally on Saturday, March 15 at 5.30 p.m. there will be a demonstration
in the Plaza de Espanya in Palma.
Meanwhile, in the event that the war starts, the Plataforma per la Democrącia
i la Globalització Social will call the citizens of Mallorca to
concentrate in the Paseo del Born in Palma the same day as from 7 p.m.
