The ground and mezanine floors at the Casal Solleric are housing until
May 8 the exhibition "Artificial Paradises. Works 1993-2003" by Javier
de Juan, organised by the
Palma Town Council,
sponsored by the
CAM and comissioned by
Neus Cortès.
Considered to be one of the most important artists
of the new Spanish representational
art, Javier de Juan (Linares, 1958) has taken part in many exhibitions
and his work is shown in important museums in de Madrid, Barcelona, Ginebra
and Dusseldorf. The works that he is presenting at the Casal Solleric comprise
drowings and paintings, some of them hiden behind wood windows and doors,
and three huge portatile boxes that represent a library, a bar and a train
cabinet, places that the artist considers as artificial paradises.
Moreover, the main floor of the Casal Solleric is holding until April
6 the exhibition
"Suite
347", one of the engraving series by Picasso, and from April 10 to
May 8 it will house the exhibition "Maraver. Obras 1985-2003".
As for the Espai Quatre, hall situated in the basement of the Solleric,
is is presenting until May 11 the exhibition "El carceller" by Dionis Escorsa.
And finally, in the patio, there is the exhibition of the "8a Maratón
Fotográfica Escolar" that can be visited until April 20.
