New museum dedicated to Sant Antoni and the Devil in Sa Pobla

New museum dedicated to Sant Antoni and the Devil in Sa Pobla
Last Saturday, the mayor of sa Pobla, Jaume Font Barceló, opened the Museu de Sant Antoni i el Dimoni dedicated to the traditional festivity of Sant Antoni that is held every year in the town. The new museum is situated in the recently restored railway station of Sa Pobla, and holds elements of the fiesta for Sant Antoni, such as the demons and the giant heads, amongst others. It also includes an exhibition of photographs, pictures, symbols and an audiovisual that, together with explanatory texts, put the visitors into the essence of this fiesta documented in Sa Pobla since the XIV century. The director of the new place for exhibitions is Ramon Molina, responsible also for Can Planes, a building in Sa Pobla that houses the Contemporary Art Museum and the Toy Museum.

Entrance to the museum is free until the summer and visiting times are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., except Mondays and Sunday afternoon, when the museum is closed.
