The saxophonist Gary Bartz in the Casino Mallorca

With a concert by the jazz saxophonist Gary Bartz next Thursday, March 27, at 10 p.m., the Gran Casino Mallorca will present the XII Festival de Jazz de Palma. Grammy Award winning Gary Bartz has worked with Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner's, Art Blackey and Max Roach and in this first concert in Mallorca he will play together with Barney McAll (piano), James King (double bass) and Greg Bandy (drums). The tickets cost 25 euros including a drink, and can be acquired in advance from Gran Casino Mallorca (Tel. 971130000) and Xocolat Centre (Tel. 971713316)

The Palma Jazz Festival was first held from 1981 to 1990. Last year, after 12 years, the festival came back directed by Miquel Jaume (Trui Espectacles), just like its origins.
