Joves de Mallorca per la
Llengua is organising the fourth edition of the Correllengua, popular
relay event to demand a complete normalization of the Catalan language
on Mallorca. Like in the
previous
editions, the Correllengua 2003 will have several columns that this
time will reach over sixty towns between the 2nd and the 10th of May. The
participants will carry as usual the flame called "Flama de la Llengua",
this year designed by the Mallorcan sculptor Ferran Aguiló.
The programme of the Correllengua 2003, that will end on Saturday, May
10, with a huge human chain between plaza Major and plaza de sa Llotja
de Palma, includes parallel activities such as a concert in Petra on Friday,
May 2, with music by
Fora
des Sembrat,
Pemi Fortuny, Josep
Thió, Ke Reggae Ska and
Família
López; a popular dance animated by
Música
Nostra and
Xaloc Música
that will take place on Saturday 3 in Llucmajor, and the exhibition "Pintors
joves Correllengua" that will open on Monday 5 in the Cultural Centre of
the Misericòrdia de Palma.
