Memories of Democracy 1936-1962

The Capella de la Misericòrdia in Palma is housing in April and May, the exhibition "Memòria de la Democràcia, 1936-1962" organised by the Conselleria de Presidència of the Balearic Government with the collaboration from the Departament de Cultura del Consell de Mallorca. The exhibition recovers from oblivion photographs and letters of people from the Balearics who fought for freedom and were beaten in the Spanish Civil War. The material on show is distributed in the seven following sections: II Republic (1931 -1936), the war and the resistance to the Coup d'Etat (1936-1939), the repression, the prisons, the resistance, exile and finally, the resurging language and culture.

Entrance is free and visiting times are from Monday to Friday from 10.15 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 4.30 to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
