Last Friday the professor in Administration Law,

Blasco, having obtained 47.02% of the votes was on the brink of getting
the over all majority necessary to become the new Rector of the UIB. As
for the results for the other two candidates, the Professor of Organic
Chemistry,
Pere
Deyà, was second with 27,63% of the votes and the professor
of Computer Sciences,
Llorenç
Valverde, was third, with 25,35% of the votes.
Since no candidate obtained over 50% of the votes next April 30 there
will be a second round between Blasco and Deyà, the two most voted
candidates. In this second round the Rector proclaimed will be the candidate
who obtains the simple majority of votes.
