Juniper Serra's festivity in Petra

Father Juníper Serra, founder of California , particularly remembered at this time in Petra, where he was born, because the "Festa del Beat Juníper Serra" is taking place, organised by the Parish of Sant Pere and the Sant Bernadí Convent, with support from the Town Council.

The programme of activities, which continues until September 21, can be found in the new web of the Town Council. There will be several religious events, a popular supper, a concert by Arpellots Haveneres Band and many other activities.

On Sunday 21, the most important day, at 11.30 a.m., Solemn Mass at the Parish of Sant Pere and at 5.30 p.m. concentration of horses, carts, xeremiers, peasants and floats that represent allegoric figures and symbols of the Beat Juníper Serra. At 6.m. the awaited procession will begin, followed by the floral offering.
