Exhibitions at the Casal Solleric

Paintings by Úrculo, engravings by Picasso, sculptures by Sassu, and others

The Casal Solleric in Palma presents four new exhibitions.

The main floor is holding until June 13 an exhibition that groups some 50 works by painter Eduardo Úrculo (Santurce,1938 - Madrid, 2003), one of the most outstanding contemporary Spanish artists. Úrculo's figurative work is considered to be part of the pop art movement and the works that can be seen now in Palma are paintings of nudes, still life, landscapes and metropolitan images. This is an itinerant exhibition that began in the Millennium Museum of Pekin, sponsored by the Ministery of Foreign Affairs of Spain.

The ground floor is housing the exhibition called "Picasso. Caisse a Remords", a collection which consists of 45 engravings that Pablo Picasso (Málaga, 1881 - Mougins, 1973) created along his life. The exhibition is sponsored by Bancaja and can be visited until May 23.

"Sassu. Escultures 1939 - 1999", is the title of the exhibition that can be visited in the mezanine floor until June 13. The exhibition, sponsored by the CAM, consists of 45 pieces created between 1939 and 1999 by sculptor Aligi Sassu (Milan, 1912 - Pollença, 2000).

Finally, the Espai Quatre, in the basement of the cultural centre, is housing until June 13 the installation "La respiració exacta" by Xavier Arenós.

Entrance is free and the visiting times are from Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. and on Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., closed on Mondays.
